RCOM approaches SC against TDSAT order

RCOM has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal’s (TDSAT) order that mandated the payment of termination charges for SMSs at Re 0.10 per message. TDSAT had passed the order in response to Bharti Airtel’s plea in which the operator had sought a payment of Rs 118.6 million from RCOM. Seeking to set aside TDSAT’s order, RCOM in its plea has claimed that the fixation of Re 0.10 as termination charges was arbitrary, non-reciprocal, non-transparent and discriminatory.
