MoP concludes fourth round of R-LNG auction for stranded gas-based capacity

In the fourth round of regasified LNG (R-LNG) auctions under the Scheme for Utilisation of Stranded Gas-Based Plants, the Ministry of Power (MoP)  has extended a subsidy support of Rs 1.87 billion from the Power System Development Fund. The ministry has allocated 9.93 mmscmd of R-LNG to nine stranded gas-based plants aggregating 5,070 MW. The plants will generate around 8.8 billion units of electricity from October 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017, which will be supplied at or below Rs 4.70 per unit. Some of the winning bidders are GMR Infrastructure Limited, GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited and Lanco Infratech Limited.
