Gujarat government decides to exempt small passenger vehicles and state-run buses from paying toll on 12 state highways

The Gujarat government has decided to exempt small passenger vehicles and state-run buses from paying toll on 12 state highways with effect from August 15, 2016. However, passengers will have to pay toll tax on eight national highways that pass through the state and are maintained by the central government. Following the exemption, the state exchequer will incur an additional burden of Rs 1.5 billion.
