DoT releases new SIM upgradation guidelines

DoT has come out with new SIM upgradation guidelines mandating that a user’s network should be upgraded from 2G to 3G/4G only with his/her consent. Meanwhile, to reduce the burden on operators, DoT has also approved televerification of subscribers on an interactive voice response system that will help subscribers submit their details directly to the service provider for SIM activation.
