BWSSB seeks grant from Karnataka government for water supply and sewerage scheme for Bengaluru

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) in Karnataka has sought a grant worth Rs 18.86 billion from the state government to implement water supply and underground drainage (UGD) works in the newly added areas of the city. The proposed water supply and UGD works will be undertaken under the Cauvery Stage V project. The scope of work involves the laying of drinking water pipelines and UGD systems and the construction of 10 ground-level reservoirs to supply water to 110 villages. The civic body has arranged Rs 3 billion for the project, which has been collected as beneficiary capital contribution receipts under the Greater Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Project. Besides, Rs 15.86 billion has also been sought from the state government.
