MoRTH amends project preparation process

In a move to minimise cost overruns and delays, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has decided to involve consultants engaged in the preparation of DPRs) for obtaining statutory and environmental clearances. Their payment will now be linked to the progress of preparatory works. Only 60 per cent of the consultancy fee will be released upon the submission of the DPR against the existing norm of about 99 per cent.
