The MoR has initiated a proposal to install TRI-NETRA (terrain imaging for diesel drivers infrared, enhanced optical and radar-assisted) systems on locomotives for enhancing the vision of locomotive drivers in bad weather. It will comprise hig resolution optical video cameras, high sensitivity infrared video cameras and a radar-based terrain mapping system.
