RITES dispatches consignment of 60 broad gauge passenger coaches to Bangladesh Railway

RITES Limited has dispatched a consignment of 60 broad gauge passenger coaches (LHB type) to Bangladesh Railway as a part of its Rs 3.67 billion contract to export 120 such coaches. The coaches, manufactured by the Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala, are made of stainless steel and are equipped with Fiat bogies which can run at a maximum speed of 160 kmph. Earlier, RITES had delivered 26 broad gauge diesel electric locomotives manufactured by Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi, to Bangladesh Railway.
