The Ministry of Coal has issued a show cause notice to Reliance Power Limited (RPL) seeking an explanation for delays in the development of coal blocks associated with the 400 MW Tilaiya ultra mega power project (UMPP) in Jharkhand. The ministry has asked RPL to provide reasons for not revoking bank guarantees despite the violation of the terms of allotment of the Kerandari B and C coal blocks.
