JNPT has commenced logistics data bank (LDB) services at the port from July 1, 2016. The service provides the facility to track containers on a real-time basis using radio frequency identification technology while the containers are being transported through rail and trucks (on major routes) through its web portal. To provide the LDB service an SPV, Logistics Data Services Limited, has been formed between the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Trust and NEC Corporation, Japan.
