The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Centre Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CSIR-CIMFR) has signed an MoU with Coal India Limited, Singareni Collieries Company Limited and power utilities to undertake quality analysis of coal supplied to the power utilities by coal companies. The contract value of the project is around Rs 2.5 billion per annum. The project is expected to result in improved performance of thermal power plants (TPPs) in the country.
