Barco, a global leader in control room visualisation, has recently introduced the first RGB laser-powered rear-projection video walls. The flagship laser series for 24×7 control rooms offers all the advantages of RGB laser projection for large video walls including laser brightness levels and vibrant colours, with an unmatched lifetime and the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). This 10th-generation video wall from Barco lifts rear-projection video walls to a whole new level for critical infrastructure control room markets.

Providing two times more brightness than mainstream light-emitting diode (LED)-lit video walls, this new series allows mission-critical control rooms to operate under all lighting conditions, day or night. The laser-sharp colours, focus and contrast levels project the highest quality images, ensuring no details are ever lost. The latest-generation Barco Sense X automatic calibration technology is also integrated into this new generation of RGB laser video walls.

Contrary to laser phosphor projection, Barco’s flagship laser video wall displays do not rely on rotating phosphor/colour wheels to create the image (which is a common source of failure). With a power consumption which is 25 per cent less (at higher brightness levels) than conventional LED-lit video walls, and an energy efficiency of three times lumens/watt, this innovative series is good not only for the energy bill, but for the environment too.
