MoUD funds water grid link to 10 towns under AMRUT

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has allocated Rs 2 billion under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme for linking water supply networks of 10 municipal corporations in Telangana with the Telangana Drinking Water Grid Project. Detailed project reports for supplying water to 10 municipal corporations, drawn up at a cost of around Rs 3.8 billion, were submitted by the Telangana government to the central government for approval. Subsequently, the MoUD granted its share of Rs 2 billion. The remaining 20 per cent of funds will be contributed by the state government and 30 per cent by urban local bodies.
