Landfill disposal facility under Greater Noida Solid Waste Management Project to be ready by 2017

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) in Uttar Pradesh is expected to complete work on a landfill disposal facility under the Greater Noida Solid Waste Management Project by 2017. The project will be implemented in two phases and involves the construction of two combination treatment plants and a 5 MW waste-to-energy (WtE) plant. While the treatment plants will be constructed in Phase I of the project at a cost of Rs 550 million, the WtE plant will be developed in Phase II at a cost of about Rs 1.9 billion.
