SNCF to conduct a study for redevelopment of the Ambala and Ludhiana railway stations

France-based national railway operator Société Nationale des chemins de fer Français (SNCF) is conducting a feasibility study for the redevelopment of the Ambala and Ludhiana railway stations, and a team of SNCF officials has surveyed the railway stations. The study is being undertaken as part of the agreement signed between India and France in 2015 for semi-HSR development and station renovation. In the initial phase of the project, costing over Rs 30 million, SCNF will prepare a detailed project report for both stations, the cost of which will be borne equally by the two governments.
