Trial runs on the Kalindi Kunj-Botanical Garden metro stretch to commence by September 2016

The trial run on the Kalindi Kunj-Botanical Garden stretch (Corridor 2) of the Delhi Metro Project Phase III is expected to commence by end-September 2016. The stretch is likely to commence commercial operations by end-December 2016. This stretch is a part of the Janakpuri West-Munirka-Kalindi Kunj-Botanical Garden corridor (Corridor 2) of the Delhi Metro Phase III and covers a distance of 3.9 km. At present, about 80 per cent of the work on the stretch has been completed. Of the total 101 pillars to be erected for the project, 80 have been completed. Moreover, work on 14 of the 15 pillars for the bridge (connecting Noida with Delhi) has been completed. The electrical works and the remaining civil works are in progress.
