Projects worth Rs 4.95 billion approved under AMRUT

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has approved projects worth Rs 4.95 billion under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) (2015-16) for 13 cities in Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, Tripura, Meghalaya and Puducherry. Rs 4.25 billion and the remaining will be contributed by the state governments and urban local bodies. The central government will bear 90 per cent of the project cost for cities in the north-eastern states and in Jammu & Kashmir, 100 per cent in Puducherry and 50 per cent in Goa. Of the total investments, Rs 2.01 billion has been earmarked for water supply projects, Rs 1.16 billion for sewerage projects, Rs 850 million for urban transport, Rs 773 million for storm water drainage projects, and Rs 146.9 million for other infrastructure projects. So far, the MoUD has approved funds worth Rs 204.91 billion under AMRUT for projects in 483 mission cities in 26 states and union territories.
