Performance of operators for call drop rates deteriorates during quarter ended September 2015

According to the performance indicator report (PIR) released by TRAI, the performance of telecom operators in terms of call drop rates for the worst-affected cells deteriorated during the quarter ended September 2015 compared to the quarter ended June 2015. As per the PIR, in terms of the worst-affected cells with an over 3 per cent call drop rate for 2G services, Aircel did not meet TRAI’s benchmark in 17 circles, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in five circles, Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) in 15 circles and Vodafone in two circles. Meanwhile, for 3G services, Aircel did not meet the benchmark in 10 circles, BSNL in three circles, TTSL in five circles and Vodafone in two circles.
