MoRTH launches HAS on Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-8

The MoRTH has launched a highway advisory system (HAS) on the Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-8, as a pilot project. HAS is a free-to-air information distribution system that uses the radio to make the travelling experience on national highways safer, faster and hassle-free. Real-time highway information will be gathered from concessionaires, patrol vehicles, toll plazas and traffic marshals. This information will be transmitted to the HAS control centre using mobile applications, telephones and sensors. The control centre will generate alerts after collecting, analysing and processing the data, and send it for broadcast by the All India Radio (AIR). Information and alerts will be broadcast over AIR’s Delhi, Alwar and Jaipur FM stations. A total of 22 daily bulletins will be issued, including safety awareness and live traffic updates on NH-8.
