The Ministry of Railways (MoR) has proposed the development of four additional dedicated freight corridors (DFCs) in order to increase its share in freight movement. The four additional freight corridors are the 2,330 km East-West Corridor (Kolkata-Mumbai), the 2,343 km North-South Corridor (Delhi-Chennai), the 1,100 km East Coast Corridor (Kharagpur-Vijayawada) and the 899 km Southern Corridor (Chennai-Goa).
