AP government earmarks Rs 26.37 billion till 2021 under AMRUT

The Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked Rs 26.37 billion for undertaking a number of projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) over the next five years. According to the plans, the central government will contribute funds to the tune of Rs 13.18 billion for these projects while urban local bodies will contribute Rs 7.91 billion. Reportedly, AMRUT will be implemented in 30 towns across the state and will cover projects in sectors such as water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage and urban transport. In December 2015, the central government released the first instalment of central assistance worth Rs 600 million under AMRUT for Andhra Pradesh for the year 2015-16.
