Fitch expects an improvement in non-performing asset ratio of banks this fiscal

International ratings agency Fitch is expecting the non-performing asset ratio of banks to improve marginally to 10.9 per cent by the end of this fiscal year from 11.1 per cent in 2014-15. According to Fitch, the Indian banking system currently has stressed assets of around Rs 9 trillion. The ratings agency also expects credit growth of 12-13 per cent in 2015-16, moderately higher than the 9.7 per cent in the previous fiscal.
