The construction of a multi-user liquid terminal at Cochin port has commenced. Construction of the terminal, capable of berthing vessels of 230 metre length and 13.5 metre draught, has been awarded to contractor RKEC Projects Private Limited, at a cost of Rs 2.17 billion. The work is likely to be completed in 24 months from the date of commencement. The terminal will primarily handle liquefied petroleum gas for IOC and petroleum products for other players.
