Second liquid chemical berth inaugurated at Mumbai port

The second liquid chemical berth at Mumbai port was inaugurated on January 13, 2016. The project involved the construction of a second berth for handling various grades of bulk liquid chemicals and specialised POL cargo at Pir Pau, south of the first chemical berth at Mumbai port, with an investment of Rs 1.27 billion. The berth has a capacity of 2.5 mtpa and is designed to handle 55,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) vessels carrying liquid bulk chemicals and POL products. The capacity could be upgraded to 65,000 DWT in the future. The project work was undertaken by RKEC Projects Private Limited.
