Rajiv Gandhi International Airport commissions 5 MW solar power plant

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has commissioned a 5 MW solar power plant at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The plant has been set up with an outlay of Rs 250 million and has started generating pollution-free energy of around 25,000 units per day. The airport is expected to increase the solar capacity up to 12 MW in 2016-17. GHIAL has further plans to gradually scale up capacity to 30 MW over the next three years at an investment of about Rs 1.5 billion.
