MoR and SNCF sign agreement for study on Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar HSR

The MoR and SNCF (French railway company) signed an agreement on January 25, 2016 for jointly undertaking an implementation study for the Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar high speed rail corridor project. A team comprising 30 experts from France and India has been constituted to conduct the study; the report is likely to be submitted by December 2016. In addition, three banks and about 15 French railway companies will monitor the study. Also, an agreement for undertaking the joint feasibility study for redevelopment of the Ambala and Ludhiana railway stations was signed between the MoR and SNCF. The study will take six months and will involve a team of 12 experts from SNCF. Besides there will also be experts in architecture from Gares & Connexions and AREP.
