Elevated BRT corridor planned between Anand Vihar and Tikri Border

The Delhi government is planning to develop an elevated bus rapid transit (BRT) corridor connecting Anand Vihar to the Tikri border via the Income Tax Office (ITO). Though the final project cost is yet to be ascertained, it is expected to cost about Rs 48 billion. The project, spanning a length of 40 km, will be developed in two phases. Phase I will be developed from Anand Vihar to Punjabi Bagh via ITO. Under Phase II, the stretch will be further extended to the Tikri border. The elevated corridor will have two levels – one dedicated for the BRT and the second for an expressway. Upon receiving requisite approvals, it is expected to be completed in a period of three years.
