AERA scraps ADF collection at IGIA; Bird Group- ExecuJet JV wins MRO contract

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has directed Delhi International Airport Limited to discontinue collection of airport development fees (ADF) from May 1, 2016. In a separate development, a joint venture (JV) of the Bird Group and the Zurich-based ExecuJet Aviation Group has won the contract for development of maintenance, repair and overhaul and fixed-base operation facilities at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). The project, involving an investment of Rs 1.5 billion, will provide facilities such as a dedicated general aviation terminal, and aircraft handling and storage, and create state-of-the-art infrastructure for private aircraft operators.
