Work commenced on Vaitarna-Vadodara section under Western DFC

The Express Freight consortium commenced work on the 320 km Vaitarna-Vadodara section of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Project (western corridor) on January 5, 2016. The consortium, led by Mitsui and Company Limited, consists of Ircon International Limited and Tata Projects Limited (TPL). TPL will look into civil engineering works and lay tracks jointly with Ircon International while Mitsui will provide the technical expertise. The consortium has already received advance payments to carry out the construction work. The work is expected to be completed in the scheduled period of 48 months using the latest technology of automated track laying machines.
