West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has finalised purchase of 500 MW of power per month beginning January 2016 through a reverse e-auction mechanism. Tata Power Company Limited, PTC India Limited and Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) have been selected in the auction process to supply power. The auction was undertaken through an online platform built by Mjunction Services Limited, and is likely to yield savings to the tune of Rs 880 million to the discom.
