The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 168.8 million to the Bareilly Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the rehabilitation of old and obsolete water pipelines in the city under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). Apart from replacing old water pipelines, new pipelines will be laid in areas which have been recently added to the jurisdiction of BMC. The civic agency is in the process of preparing the detailed project report (DPR) which will then be sent for approval to the state government. In addition, under AMRUT, the civic agency has proposed the construction of four STPs and laying of new sewer lines. These projects are likely to be taken up in the next phase of the mission.
