Foundation stone laid for Delhi-Meerut expressway

The central government has laid the foundation for the construction of the 74 km Delhi-Meerut Expressway project and the 22 km Dasna-Hapur section of National Highway (NH)-24. The project is estimated to cost Rs 75.66 billion and will be implemented in three components. The first component entails the construction of the 28 km 14-lane Delhi-Dasna section at a cost of Rs 28.69 billion. The second component involves construction of the 46 km six-lane Dasna-Meerut section at a cost of Rs 35.75 km. The third component involves six-laning of the 22 km Dasna-Hapur section of NH-24 at a cost of Rs 11.22 billion.
