Committee formed to resolve issues related to Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR

The central government has set up a high-level committee headed by the NITI Aayog to sort out all the bilateral issues related to implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (HSR) Corridor Project, with a similar panel constituted by Japan. The committee comprises the secretaries of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, the Ministry of External Affairs, the DEA and the chairman of the Railway Board. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) – High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (HSRC) – has been incorporated for implementation of the project. The rail corridor is likely to be developed on an elevated stretch.
