Bihar government launches mobile application to address grievances

The Bihar government has launched a mobile application that enables citizens to lodge complaints pertaining to civic services such as drinking water, sewerage, drainage and solid waste management. The application has been launched under the banner of “Apna Patna App” and can be downloaded from the Google Play store, and Patna Municipal Corporation and Urban Development and Housing Department of Bihar websites. It requires complainants to register their name and mobile number. Upon successful registration, the complainant will have to take a picture of the problem area and upload it. During the entire process, the complainant is required to enable GPS on the phone so that the photograph is automatically geo-tagged. Once uploaded, the photo and the details of the complaint will be transferred to the control room. The complaint will then be forwarded to the concerned officer who will have to respond to the post.
