The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has postponed a plan to impose a 2 per cent levy on domestic and international air tickets. This was earlier proposed to be effective from January 2016 under the draft Civil Aviation Policy. The draft note is being prepared for cabinet approval and is likely to be sent by mid-January 2015. The levy will be applicable on all routes other than CAT IIA and regional connectivity scheme routes.
